That was how I thought of it as well. Some cosplays of inaccurate skin color can look beautiful and still be awesome cosplays, and some people would rather go that extra mile and wear makeup to be 100% accurate. It’s no different than the ‘Puerto Ricans’ in the West Side Story movie wearing makeup to make themselves darker, or Robert Downey Jr. portraying a black man in Tropic Thunder. It’s all makeup for makeup’s sake.
